Spinach Protein Smoothie

Spinach Protein Smoothie
This is how I love to start my day!  It’s a protein and nutrient- packed smoothie with just a slight touch of sweetness.  It fills me up without weighing me down!

Makes 2- 16oz smoothies  

3 cups baby spinach leaves 
       (about 3 big handfuls)
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 frozen banana
6 ice cubes
1 ½ scoops gluten free protein powder, 
       “original” flavor,
       (I like BlueBonnet,Whey Protein)
½ teaspoon cinnamon

                Place spinach leaves, almond milk, frozen banana, and ice cubes in a blender.  Blend on high speed until combined.  Then, add the protein powder and cinnamon.  Blend until completely combined and frothy.  Serve cold.

Optional Add-Ins (These are my favorites)
5-7 strawberries, fresh or frozen
½ cup frozen blueberries
½ of a ripe Hass avocado
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Looking for a sweeter smoothie?  Try using sweetened almond milk
