Homemade Strawberry Jam
Strawberries
are one of my favorite fruits, so when they are in season I stock up! I always look forward to making this jam
because it always reminds me that Spring is just around the corner. Plus, it’s really easy to make and my husband
just can’t get enough of it!
2 lbs strawberries, washed, hulled,
and chopped
1 ¼ cup natural cane sugar
2 tablespoons fresh orange juice
(1-2 oranges)
½ of a medium granny smith apple,
peeled, cored, and small diced
½ cup blueberries
In a large
saucepan, mix together strawberries, sugar, and orange juice. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Add apple and blueberries and continue
cooking on medium heat. Keep the jam
mixture at a rolling boil for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally to make sure
the jam doesn’t get stuck on the bottom and burn.
Remove from heat
and let the jam cool before transferring to an airtight container. Keep in fridge for 2 weeks. Enjoy!

Marie’s Tips:
*How do you know when the jam is
done? Here’s a little trick: place a
plate in the freezer. Around the 20
minute mark spoon a little bit of the hot jam onto the cold plate and if it
thickens up (like gel), it’s done.
*Want the jam to keep longer? Seal
in canning jars according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
*I love putting this jam in little
jars and giving them away as gifts.
They’re always a big hit!
